Stupid, lazy subordinates

So, I got transferred into a new position at work (well, forced against my will, kicking and screaming is more like it, but what's a girl to do....), and I find myself in a position of "authority" (so to speak) over a bunch of lazy jerks. I thought I was done babysitting (except my perfect little guy, who will eventually lose his perfection once he figures out he's an individual and what "NO" really means), but apparently this is not the case.

I don't understand what the hell is so hard about doing what you've been asked to do by those who ask you to do it. I come to work, figure out what my tasks for the day are, and get to it (confession - I do, on occasion, take a little break to goof off, but my work still gets done). Is it asking too much to expect the things I've asked my subordinate colleagues to do be accomplished in a timely manner? I don't think I'm a pycho-bitch about it, but c'mon kids - don't wait until the end of the day to tell me you've been too busy surfing the net to accomplish your required tasks!

Well good luck on your new journey. I too go to work and work my ass off while there, Yet I watch the rest of the place (people) do absolutely nothing. I really like my JOB but it's most the people I work with that ruin it.

I wish I could just pound a work ethic into other's heads - it would make my life better. I guess I'm stuck just providing the example and hoping it gets noticed. I don't know though.....
