Fuck Mormons
Fuck Mormons and every other cult that actively tries to convert people. Yes mormons should be free to worship as they wish, but their right should not interfere with other people's lives. Just stop harassing everybody else and stop trying to legislate morality in Utah.
My family is all mormon, I love them unconditionally. It annoys me that they believe and act like I am throwing my life away because I won't go to church with them and don't believe in their wierd fucking superstitions. It seems like they should have gotten used to it over the past 4 years. They'll respect me and what I do on a daily basis at work but when it comes to my personal life I'm just another heathen destined for hell... oh well. |

You love your parents unconditionally, I'm sure that's true. But to me it doesn't sound like you have a problem with mormons, you just have a problem with the way your parents look at you.
You need to settle down. I'm mormon, and when was the last time I told you, or anyone else for that matter, that I didn't agree with their lifestyle. Do what you want with your life, It's yours. But leave the blatent slander and ignorance in your bedroom. For one of the most intelligent people I know Mark, you sure say some ignorant things. I don't judge you, so don't judge me. |

do you know who said "every member a missionary"?

I really like this line: "Invite friends to baptismal services where the Spirit can touch them" adept lesson 41: leave me the fuck alone you crazy assholes, and I'll stop calling you nosy bitches anybody who wants to read the whole thing, it appears to be at this url: http://www.neumanninstitute.org/dc41.html I don't know that it is a valid and true source of data, it could even be doctored, I just know that I've heard everything that is said there a million times, so I tend to believe it is there in good faith. If anybody really cares I'll get you some much better validated literature. My point is that every little mormon hellion is taught to annoy me. This gives me an idea for hektik.org propaganda, black buttons that say "no I would NOT like to hear about another testament of jesus christ --hektik.org". And other incredibly cunning pickup lines used by the young elders. Quote:

Well, I guess I'll burn in the fiery pits of hell for not harassing everyone I know. The majority of my friends are not mormon.
I have seen people who do walk around asking people to go to church with them or claim to be good mormons. Then they walk around and call people that walk the straight and narrow things like Peter Priesthood or Molly Mormon. Some members have issues, that's for sure. They talk about how everyone gets on their case for being "good" and then bash those that strive to live the gospel to a T. I guess what I'm trying to say is that it's some of the members that have problems. There's nothing wrong with the teachings. I think if I invited someone to a baptism that wasn't a member of the church it would be more like "Wanna see how this goes down?" instead of, "Come, the spirit will fill your heart, and you'll be getting dunked soon too". It's all in the way you approach things. While I don't claim to be the best mormon in the world, I do all right. And I'm open about my faults, I swear like a pirate, and am involved with hektik, so occasionally I see someone shitting on themselves. It happens. I just don't seek it out. When I was in the Air Force I used to get harped on like mad, worse then you guys ever could. "C'mon have a drink" - "You used to drink" - "You converted for the pussy" - "It's a cult" - "The statue of 'joseph smith' has his hand out to the bank and back to the temple" - "mormon polygamists live in tents and travel around antelope island". It was insane. But then we would be in Vegas and I'd be sober and people would say, "You know I respect that you came from NY and did all that crazy shit you used to do, and turned your life around. It's cool that you don't drink, if you ever gave in, that'd suck." That's how you're a good missionary. You try and be the best member you can, not perfect. We all make mistakes. It's hard being LDS, especially for me. I think I'm inherintly evil. If I ever turned my back on my beliefs and did what's in my heart, it'd be pure evil man. You have no idea. It's an internal battle everyday. So when you cheapen it by saying "Fuck mormons" or "Mormons are assholes", it pisses me off and it makes me want to break your nose. That's all. |

Fuck Mormons
You're not going to get to ride first class in the space ship if you don't meet your quota, Elder Neil. The cult has performance figures this quarter, and we need 10% of everybody on earth's income. Mormons are hardcore capitalist entrepenuers right now, its one of my favorite things about Utah, so many people taking a chance with ideas that they developed themselves. But then something happens, they give 10% of what they earned (some people give 10% before taxes because they are hoping for an exit row seat on the rocket ship), and put it into some wonderful socialist wealth redistribution plan. Sure, a lot of that money goes into building your launchpads/temples, but then some of it is given to the starving and needy in other countries. I really can't stand that, these entrepenuers are giving up to socialism without even realizing it.
Yes you should take this post lightly... If you try to correct me on any of this I'm going to laugh my ass off. I tried to understand them for 17 years, I laugh just as hard as you about misconceptions. Oh, and the only reason I had to put this disclaimer here is because you took offense to something as simple as FUCK MORMONS. |

Now the reason I hate mormons: their doctrine requires their members to go out and harass people and they are out to convert the world. This has been established earlier, and refuted by Grifter that he isn't that kind of mormon. Well guess what, I don't mind people who will keep their religion to themselves, but I do wonder to myself why they label themselves as a religion with such intolerable practices. Even if they aren't out to convert me, they're probably voting for the standard mormon robot candidate at the elections who wants to legislate his morality onto everybody whether they believe the same or not. Example: fornication is illegal in utah, as well as a shitload of other things that are ridiculous. Hell, I think that people like this are in it for other reasons, such as peace with family, or because the person they fell in love with wouldn't accept them any other way... Now what really gets to me about this is that mormon/christian doctrine damns people like this worse than an outright sinner. Now I don't believe this shit, but the mormons do claim to. (Revelations 3:15-17) People claim to believe all of that and then claim that they are half assed mormons when I ask they why their church has to be so conversion oriented. People like this are probably just in it because sometimes its easier to get brainwashed and be accepted. FUCK MORMONS who want to try and convert me. FUCK MORMONS who don't even know what they claim to believe. I hate stupid people, and I don't think it gets much stupider than that. Quote:

another whacky mormon
I wanna say I can totally understand SOME of the things said here.
I, like Grifter, am a mormon. I served a mission to Pittsburgh, PA. I would consider myself fairly active in my religion. I would also consider myself good friends with some of you I have met through Hektik and 2600. I don't judge anyone, myself I am not perfect either and will probably be joining grifter in the seats by the bathroom on the space ship. It takes all kinds of people to make up this world. "can't we all just get along"? Anywayz....... love to you all!

I think with every major religion you'll encounter the fanatics, I think with every religion you'll come across people who feel their religion is the right one and everyone else is wrong. I've studied quite a number of religions and each one shares something, and each one has its negatives and positives, I decided to study them to learn about people mostly. As far as mormons go, I've lived here in Utah most my life so of course i've met a good number of mormon folk. I know some such as what grifter sounds that are very excepting, and i've met plenty also who are the most unaccepting people i've met. It's kind of a crap shoot I guess.
The thing that I don't care about with most religions is when they try to force me into their beliefs, it isn't their choice as to what I should believe. Not all religious folks do this however because i've been exposed to a huge mormon influence I can say that a good number of mormons will come to me and preach to me and tell me I am wrong and should believe their way because I should be saved, or because I need to believe the right way. I don't care what path (religion) a person takes, they all lead to the same destination in my opinion, but the choice has to be left up to the individual for sure. http://www.exmormon.org/ This site was a pretty impressive account from people who have experienced mormonism. Although it could be argued that each of the people on the site are biased in some respects it is also feasible to assume that because the shear magnitude of submissions, and that they are all individuals that they are relatively unbiased as well. The site itself remains extremely objective in my opinion, and presents the information without opinion. Mostly the site recounts experiences of people who are, were, or have thought about joining mormonism. Even if a person is completely mormon I feel this site is a good read if nothing else than to affirm your faith. For those who aren't mormon, or who are questioning their faith, it is a good glimpse into some things that may surprise you. *steps off the soapbox*

I have been to the site above and it is indeed objective. I think when it comes to religion no one can be 100% non biased but the site does a pretty good job. I learned some interesting things about Joe Smith and the early church. I learned even more interesting things about Brigham Young and how the church based in SLC evolved. If anyone wants to learn some interesting things about the Mormon church I suggest you start there.
