Roadtrip Documentary

Hey guys, i noticed this was a SLC/Utah based forums and i've been doing some research on this area.

I am currently a 20 year old college student who's making a roadtrip documentary. I was born and raised in Rockaway Beach NY and Went to High School in Melbourne Florida. I just finished 2 years of college in the boondocks of Oklahoma (Alva) coming back down to florida showed me a lesson. There are way too many unambitious people here, in a place where options are unlimited whether your into film, music, surf, nature, anything. I can't find a single bit of motivation.

Thats just where i'm coming from. I found more inspired people in boondock places than places that have everything. So i did what any man would do, i invited all my oklahoma brethren to move down to florida and low and behold less than a month later now we are three doing alot of stuff. One night after a completely improved night consisting of local bands, booze, strippers and the beach, we made it back to my place where we began to do our questioning. If we did what we did tonight in Oklahoma, it'd turn into a 3 week planning period and be little to no fun in actuality. And if it was so easy for us to do this, then why are more than half of the fellow students and brethren doing absoultely nothing. None of us could sit right knowing that, at this moment, people were doing nothing at all. And not only that , they were comfortable with this day to day life consisting of nothing but nothingness taking thier only excess out of thier monotanous life to watch TV and Movies. And this is in fucking Beachside Florida.

However it led us to think, quite a bit actually. look at all the youth we see in the media. theres alot of it. What do every single one of them have in common. they fucking did something. It doesn't matter. But fact is, if you want to make movies, you need to make a movie. f you want to have a band, you need to play in a band and write songs. I, simply, just want to do something. I have a million ideas that i write down from Stand-up to novels to movies, to lyrics. And actually, only half of my crap is shit. The rest is very do-able.

One that came up on the fly was this idea for a Documentary. 7 Days. Constant Recording. Starts with a car engine and it's 3 pretty much brothers and a cameraman driving alongside the united states, pretty much in fast forward (really fast forward) til we hit a sign that saws (Welcome to Utah, or Now Entering Utah) Whatever that sign is, thats the name of the movie and the only credit thats going to be in the movie.

Either way the meat of the movie is the 3 of us spending at least 5 nights in Utah, Ranging from visiting the Salt Lakes to going straight to mormon country, taking a complete Socranic Irony to it. And do whatever we see whenever we see it and make something happen, whatever it is. Just live life and create a tale of inspiration and motivation, even its motivation to do nothing.

The timeframe would be either right before christmas or right after christmas but definately during the break.

Now, thats the general idea and a loose storyboard of whats going on and whats gonna happen.

My whole question is what are some must hit towns/communes/whatever to hit and spend a night in. Just some place completely out there or even if its a big town thats quite and still. I don't want to hear of must see events or anything, i wanna make our own night out of it and drift and get a real feel of that area, if you understand what i mean. What places would i have to visit, (Even places you guys were dragged to when you were young) and give me an idea of what exactly it is.

Cause this is really gonna happen and we have already got the funding (Thank you Mastercard and Citibank).

Any ideas would be great.
