Gil made a myspace profile for hektik. I admit I made my own profile for me once but less then 24 hours later I deleted it. I saw no reason to have it, I have hektik and it's more than a pain in the ass to keep shit going without needing another distraction. On a side not I hardly look at peoples pages there, too many people make it hard to read with text poorly laid over bright images, the videos and music that start to play, it's the aol wave all over again. If you make something there make it easy for everyone to view, well if you actully want people to look at it.
The hektik myspace profile is here for you myspace junkies that care... http://www.myspace.com/hektik_org

People on myspace have abandoned all internet courtesy. Poorly laid out pages, and HTML. These HTML editors available for myspace, make it easy for every monkey with a keyboard to design an ugly, hard to read, annoying fucking page.

More so-called-creativity. Is this the best we can do people of myspace?
I don't know why I replied to this topic. I hate myspace. It's a fucking popularity contest. And I told those to go fuck themselves way back in highschool. |

That makes me think back to when I was going to countless shows to try and see if I could help out some bands make their own website. You know, something to distinguish themselves from others. And what do I hear in-between songs? "You should check out our website @ myspace.com 'slash' [insert band name]." Then when i go to really good local band's myspace pages, all I see in the comment section is ads for when other local bands are playing.
You know when you go to a news site, and you see those ads on the sides of the page that you automatically tune out? Myspace is one huge ad, that needs to be tuned out. I think kenny said it best when he said "I do not need an ad filled, fox censored medium to keep track of my real friends..... ....On myspace the term 'friend' is bastardized." I can't agree with this anymore. The people I miss that have found me on that site, I rarely talk to anymore. I mean like talk-talk. No IM's no 'comments,' real communication. That's where the part of me that gets up to turn off my computer, walk outside, smell the air, smoke a cigarette, and call the people I miss. |

I am lucky I get no ads thanks to adblock ( thx firefox) but lamespace pisses me off. I keep it because I have family on there that use myspace because its all they know how to use (besides email and sometimes, they fuck that up too) and it helps me share pix with them in my blog. Other than that its just like a giant forum with extra stupid on top.
