Let me get this straight. One mother-fucker waltzes into a shopping mall, off's 5 people, wounds several others, gets killed by the police; and people are actually donating money, effort, and time for this piece of shit's funeral?

I understand your position... but, this is Utah. The majority of the populace has moral high ground based in a christian faith (I'm athiest, if it matters)... on top of that, sane minds can't comprehend an insane act... so, we assume some trauma, loss or other psychological impedement was the cause for this, and not the "soul" or humanity of the individual commiting the crime... in the case of a Bosnian refugee... who, at age 8 lived in a town under siege for 2 years, where family and friend were shelled to death, and then finnally over-run and summarily executed (8000 of them)... you might grow up a little fucked up and off balance with the world... even more so when you are transplanted to a country where the worst to happen is 5 people are gunned down by a psychopath at a mall... television clips of world violence... arm-chair experience... doesn't compare.

At any-rate... I haven't done any more research on this event after I realized how close to home it is for everyone here... nothing you can do about... a co-worker one of the dead, a friend and his fiance in the parking-lot... just minutes too late to be among the dead... I understand a community reaching out to the family that doesn't deserve the stigma left behind... all of the post death acts performed by man are for the living, to make a jesture of sanity for ourselves...
