Winter

My night couldn't get any better. Staring out the window I enjoy the first real snow of the season. Fresh out of a hot shower, I'm wrapped in a towel enjoying my warm house and my favorite album. I have a great job, a cute cat, good friends, a wonderful boy that I can call my own, and a delicious cup of steaming chamomile tea.

I have been lucky enough to have the means to further my education. Every day I realize just exactly how much I don't know. I love it. Its content times like these when you have to chase off the thought that something bad might happen and foul everything. No thoughts about that, just my tea and the snow.

I'm really excited to go frolic in the snow this winter. I have always had horrible misfortune when it comes to snow, but I have a feeling that this year will be different. Really, I just can't get over this feeling. It even made me write after all these months. I guess I just have this really bad habit of taking things for granted. It's really nice to be able to sit and just appreciate the small stuff.

My life couldn't get any better. You were staring out the window, and I stood in the background, out of view, watching you holding your warm cup of tea. You were standing in your soft robe, smiling at the sights in front of your eyes and I just pretended to shuffle behind you, emerged in laundry. But the truth is I was watching, I was smiling, and I was thankful. Its times like these that my life feels complete.
