I noticed in the article, it referred to the fact that the media thinks that mainframes are going out of style. While this is not true, the actual reason why people are shying away from it is one for ease of use's sake. You simply can't maintain a web server using COBOL, RPG II (or III), or some other archaic language that was designed solely for maintaining a database full of numbers and letters. And quite honestly, they should upgrade the mainframes to something that the rest of the real world largely conforms to, so that way, the can not only continue doing what they were doing, but they could also do it more efficiently, and a hell of a lot quicker than it's currently done.

Well, there's my 2 cents.
