Let's take the fear that an .xxx domain would create a "virtual red-light district" on the internet and provide for nearly instant access to porn (oh noes!).

Now, let's compare that to the status-quo where we have to go through the following grueling steps in order to currently find porn on the internet:

Step 1. Open a browser to http://www.google.com
Step 2. Enter search term "horsecock"
Step 3. Click "Google Search"

So what exactly are we preventing with this again? Oh wait -- in order to pass the law, a politician would have to vote for it and that politician would have to admit that he actually MADE a home for porn on the internet by approving the .xxx domain. I doubt we'll see that kind of bravery in this day and age.
