its just a shame that wal-mart is doing it. in this case, i like the fact that they are trying to change record prices. i have to say I am against it though, because wal-mart is one fucked up company - i can't be a fair weather friend to these fucks. i am afraid a 'win' for them like this one will line even more consumers up at their doors, which will fuel their eveil empire. I wish antoher retialer would try this, as they would surely get my support. wal mart bad.

Everyone wants the king-of-the-hill thrown off the mountain, or taken down. Just like the United States, that's why we are seeing so much resentment worldwide about the war on Iraq. It’s a show of force. Wal-Mart is a perfect example of market efficiency. In many ways this helps our economy because is forces other retailers to change or die, they have to become more efficient or pay the price in the market system. I also see where people may not like Wal-Mart, look at what happened with Kathy Lee Gifford and the child labor fiasco. What happened? Essentially nothing, child labor is going on as usual. And China supports it completely <60 minutes has done a good job exploring this issue. And that pretty much the main reason we are afraid of China because their main service is “cheap labor”. That is what really stands out.

As a good documentary on corporations watch “The Corporation”, they cover the good and the bad, mostly the bad but it shows what is going on.

maybe not perfect, but it obviously works. the issue for me, and should be to all consumers, is that once their monopoly is established - we be fucked. alot of towns are already in this situation, although mostly rural, these towns have seen wal-mart come in with below cost pricing to establish their brand - drawing every penny pinching american. a few months of this and all the little shops that supported the town previously are out of business, their employees working for less wage, and these slowly creeping prices which will ultimately end in the consumer paying more for the same item. and the profit leaves town rather than being pumped back into it. this could happen in big cities too, we have walmarts that are closer together than starbucks.
