Okay, lemme get this right... I've been a fan of anime for a while, used to collect it and such. Don't anymore, don't even watch it anymore save for the occasional "Cowboy Beebop" episode that pops up on adult swim while I'm working on the computer. Sooooo, is cosplay just a bunch of people who dress up like anime characters and go to conventions or something? And I thought trading VHS tapes and shonen sundays was pathetic.

It does appear that way when looking at them with lackluster consideration.

I don't pretend to know more about it than the next beaner, but I do know what a friend involved in Cosplay has told me.

She makes--designs, cuts, sews, etc.-- the costumes by hand. She puts a respectable amount of time and effort into producing said costumes, and as a result, they turn out quite nicely. It sounds rewarding.

Anyway...

Could very well be. But I'm still chuckling at this cosplay thing. It's ALMOST as if the rejects from science fiction and animation conventions had rejects, and these are them. They should get together with the live-action EQ guys and have a super-deformed battle.

Besides, if I tried to do it I'm pretty much limited to Raiden or even E.Honda given I can find a Mawashi and a wig with a top-knot.
