Why is it that whenever I buy anything at Edy Bedoya Computers Computers it's usually defective?

Why are the anti-static bags opened up there when you buy "new" hardware?

the reason why the anti-static bags are previously opened when you buy their new hardware is simple. The static bags were never closed to begin with.

memory, and CPUs arrive at EBC daily. each piece of memory is shipped with 31 of it's closest brothers in a little plastic box. Each CPU is shipped with 7 of it's brothers in a little plastic carrying case thingy. (yes, that is the technical term.. die.) once these hardware pieces arrive, a little balding mexican man takes each one out, slaps a dated sticker on it, and enters the serial number in the database. After he does that, he sticks the item back in the plastic case and sets it on a shelf.

When you order a CPU or piece of memory from edy bedoya computers computers, a little parts lackey takes the order slip from the printer, walks to the balding mexican man, signs out for the items, and places it into a pink static bag that he found in a pile of other pink static bags.

He takes it over to a dummy terminal, types the serial number in the database under your account, and the part is brought out to you.

this is how their system works.

why shit is broken and or defective:

migrant farm workers/computer assembly techs who do not speak english unload the truck. During this process a lot of things are dropped. They take each part that arrives, take it out of the box, and static bags and enter the serial number in their database. they get their little grubby hands all up on your hardware, possibly fucking it up that way.

after they put the serial numbers in the database, they take all the parts and stick them in a place known as " the cage " where another migrant farm worker drops a bunch of shit while stacking things on the shelves. when you request a part, the migrant farm worker gets it, (possibly dropping it) and hands it to the parts lackey that sold it to you.

they drop a lot of shit. I dropped a lot of shit.

I would have to agree with adept on this.

Last time I bought a cpu chip from EBC computers for my Epox 8kha+ motherboard, it fried both the board and the chip. I made sure it was the correct chip (socket a, 1.3 gig capability) to the correct board. Thermal grease and a CPU fan named volcano was used with powersource coming from the box, not the board.

They killed my betty!

EBC, I hope every one of your workers that killed my computers get raped with a dildo that has crushed glass glued all over the surface.... with various STDs.

3 out of 4 ASUS motherboards I have purchased from them have failed.
The CPU fan I purchased from them has failed.
1 out of 3 AMD processors I purchased from them has failed.
1 out of 3 Power Supplies I purchased from them has failed.
The 3 computer cases seem to work just fine though. *sarcasm*

Any place that sells jewelry along with computers is just shady. Cheap parts, cheap gold watches, and i bet around back you can get the vin number changed on your stolen car.

After beeing burned by those assholes at EBC, I wnt by this closet of a shop called Byttech or something like that. The people there hardly speak english and it looks like shit, but what I have bought there was as cheap as EBC and it has worked great. I have bought stuff for 4 machines by now with no problems at all.

I had bought 2 sticks of PC133 for an older computer of mine [128mb dimm]..
They posted at less than 64mb per chip and would not operate at 133mhz speeds.
Their return policy is gay, but what's even gayer is I went to TOTALLY AWESOME computers, [yes fellaz, they had the cheapest prices] and they gave me ram that worked, for cheaper [non-generic too, gotta love price matching + social engineering], then when I went to take the RAM back to EBC they preceeded to attempt to sell me PC2700 ram, telling me the problem was they weren't compatable [a socket 7 with pc2700 ram ???, what was the guy thinking] - then it took 7 days for my CHECK to get back to me.
anyway - moral of the story is - anybody who would try to sell a person PC2700 ram for a Socket7 Mobo is a rHetard... I used to dig ebc until that happened, now reading your stories I am even more disgusted!

did anyone see the news story on tv on EBC? I didn't see it, but I heard they did a story on how EBC was breaking laws and got in a shitload of trouble for taking parts out of their packaging and selling them individually.

I think most of us realized they did that, but I never stopped to actually think about it.

I called there once and the guy who answered didn't speak english. I swore i would never go in there again. Those are damn big cat fish in that little tank.

I have worked with a couple of people who claim to be ex employees of the place and neither will buy from there.
According to the information that they pass on, their return
policy to the companies they buy from is they won't return it unless multiple customers (not sure how many it was, I'm sure
they said at least three though) have returned it to them.

Another friend, who wasn't an ex-employee, had a hell of a time getting his money back from a defective. Each time he'd call them to get a return check they would send it to another wrong address. This happened 3 or 4 times before he told them to hold the check so he could go in and pick it up personally. That was 3 or 4 years ago and I'm sure their return policies have gotten even more labyrinthine since then.

I usually go to LS Micro cus they're close and usually don't give me too much of a hassle. Have had to return a couple small things to them and didn't have any problems. A few people I've worked with had various small bitches about them but I've not had any bad experiences. They aren't always the least expensive but if I'm looking for cheapest cost I'll buy off the internet.

I've been ripped off by EBC once. It won't happen again. I don't know why people keep going back, I really don't. I think Hektik should protest them to put EBC out of bussiness.

I don't belive TAC to have the best prices on everything, if you are really frugal and know how to build a pc than just pillage www.pricewatch.com and get the best deals.
