I hate Cafe Rio... Overpriced, Crowded, and the food is mediocre.

OOOH.. My favorite subject.

I like just a few items from certain places.

Favorites:

Deluxe Chili Cheese Fries from Del Taco and Wienershnitzel. This is my all time fav. I can eat chili cheese fries from Del Taco non stop. Fuck everything else they make.

Taco's from street venders. One by downtown liquor store especiallly.

Buffalo wings from Mo's. 4-6 they are a nickel. They used to be hotter though.

Margherita pizza from Squatters. Also from Buca Di Beppo.

Eggplant parmasen from Buca Di Beppo is awsome. aaaaaaaahhh

The Olympian on state and 21st s. is great for breakfast. I especially like their hashbrowns with country gravy. good lord.

The breadsticks from Pizza pipeline. I get em when i'm across the street at x-wifes.

I too like the blackened halibut rice bowl for lunch from guru's. tasty. dont care for anything else though.

Bacon Cheese Burger from Crown Burger. These are the best burgers that i know of.

Joe's crab shack. I"m kind of ashamed to say it. They place absolutly drives me nuts. I need to start taking earplugs and blind fold my self before i gouge out my eyes. But in my opinion they have damn good sea food. Very good halibut, very good cocanut shrimp.

Hot dogs from Lowes and Home Depot. Those little hotdog stand are pretty damn good. Lots of saurkraut.

to many to go on.

Places I hate:

Orbit cafe.
Sages. I like veggies as much as the next person. Is this the best vegan restaraunt in SLC?
Market Street. Horrible sea food.
Macaroni Grill. Why do utahns find this to be such good italian food. it fucking sucks.
Also why do utahns think going out to eat is going to applebees, tgif, chili's etcc... This is why good restaraunts go out of business. Fucking mormons have to take the whole god damn family everywhere they go.
metropolitain. They think they are the shit. and they aren't. I serve up a better hot tird.
Red Rock. I get diahrea everytime i go there.
Sampan. Its not too bad but the readers poll from City weekly said it was the best take out so i got take out. very bland. tried every dish they make. bland.
I hate that breakfast place across the street from liberty park. bad food. always cold too.
Thank god marmut mesa is gone. Horrible food and Horrible beer. It was just so damn cheap i had to drink it.

I had better leave this post alone. And go learn how to spell.

Guru's fucked up recently. They changed the sauce on the Blackened Halibut Rice Bowl. It used to be a hot peppery good flavor, now it tastes like watery tomato paste!!!!! I haven't been back since, it was one of my favorite foods.

I'll also add my recommendation of Charlie Chow's Dragon Grill on 4th south. Thanks to DayInsane for the recommendation of spicy beef noodles. mmmmmm spicy.

There is a new Barbacoa location at Olympus Hills, by the mouth of Millcreek canyon. I feel like the hot sauce has been getting weaker over the years but I still love the stuff.

OH OH! FOOD! I can do that!

Best goddamned Chinese food in town (despite the crummy, dirty atmosphere) is BY FAR Little World on State Street between 1300 South and 1700 South. Try anything.

If you like spice go to Curry in a Hurry. about 2100 South and State. VERY HOT, but VERY GOOD. I just can't get over that place.

SKELLY

mmm spicy beef noodles from Charlie Chows... good stuff.

A good spot arround 5400 south I15 area is Cravings. A little sandwich shop across the street from the QwestDex building they have a very good Cheese Steak sandwich. Plenty of steak and healthy swiss cheese with some provolone... good stuff. Also their Chelsea sandwich is good, chicken with sun dried tomatos and feta with some other melted goodness with it. Tasty stuff.

If you need a chocolate fix Gormandies aka The Bakery on 3rd south between 3rd and 2nd south has deserts like very few others in the valley, but the king of them all are their chocolate brownies. In the glass case on the top shelf on the right side. Half of one of these love covered delights and I'm good to go.

when it comes to chinese my fave is sampan on 21st and 7th east. for a hungover drunken breakfast i would recommend kostas on 11th east and about 15th south. for mexican the red iguana on north temple and i think 8th or 9th west. im a fan of the burrito bowl at barbacoa and call me crazy but i think my favorite place of all is del taco. i have yet to try cafe rio so maybe ill try that this week.

I would advise against charlie chow's me and some friends went there and found a huge cockroach just walking around. The thing was fucking huge and the manager didn't seem to perturbed about it when we told him what was going on. Never been back since.

Grove Market sammiches are Vunderbar. SEven bucks gets you a Volkswagen size sandwich. They're on 1910 So. Main. One of my frequent stops in SLC when I was still there.

Little World on 1300 s. State is killa Chinese. It doesn't loiok like much, but you can get the usual stuff(Potstickers are a must) or you can get the Asian specialities like frog legs & peking duck.

I was looking up for some info and dind't find a WHOLE lot but you can check out http://tinyurl.com/voj5

I have Betos by Banger Highway and 54th south to be decent. Also Baja Fresh on 54th south and state is pretty good as well. Both have huge amounts of food for dirt cheap prices.

i used to eat at little world all the time but theyre take out portions have gotten smaller, but i must say still very good.

i actually went to curry in a hurrry just yesterday after i read this, i had the chicken curry. all in all i t was very good(not the curry im used to, it had a slight cocoanut taste but still made me sweat) the atmosphere was a little odd, and cramped but the service was great. to top it off, before i left i went to the front counter and asked for some more of there bread they serve, and he gave me a large slice for free.

i still prefer panda express in sugarhouse though(only at luch get there too late and the food is a bit old). i always get mixed rice/chowmein mandarin chicken and orange chicken.

my favorite sandwich joint is without a doubt granatos, on 300 west approximately 1200south

I agree with you on both. MMM, the deluxe sandwhich from Groves is like 6.99 and is huge. Kicks ass and all ingrediants are fresh. Plus they are big enough to keep the other half for another meal.

Little World does look like quite the hole but its by far one of the better chinese joints around town.
